26328 Urinalysis with Culture if Indicated

Urinalysis with Culture if Indicated
Test Code: STXRC
Test Components

RUA and reflex Culture with Susceptibility if the following criteria is present:

  • <= 10 Squamous/hpf

AND

  • >10 WBC/hpf on microscopic examination
Useful For

Urinalysis provides important information regarding the status of a patient's health. Urinalysis test results are used to:

  • Aid in diagnosis of disease
  • Screen for asymptomatic, congenital, or hereditary diseases
  • Monitor progress of disease
  • Monitor effectiveness or complications of therapy

Culture may identify the organism(s) causing infection.
