TEG 6S Citrated K, KH, RT, FF
Test Code: TEG6S
Synonyms/Keywords

TEG

Kaolin TEG (R, K, Angle, MA), Kaolin TEG with Heparinase to neutralize heparin (RH), Functional Fibrinogen Maximum Amplitude (FFMA), and Rapid TEG (MA-RT)

Useful For

Restricted and only available for ordering at the Weston campus.

Patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery for evaluating patient’s baseline hemostasis and ability for clot formation; monitoring any residual heparin post protamine; and/or guiding goal-directed transfusion therapy when there is intraoperative or postoperative bleeding.

Note: LY30 not reported since it is not FDA cleared on this test cartridge. For patients fully heparinized on bypass, only the R-H parameter of the TEG6S is reported. Display of the other TEG6s parameters for patients on heparin is dependent on the dose and effect of heparin on the patient's hemostasis.

Please refer to the 'TEG Manager®- Instructions for Access' for training and obtaining log-in information for remote viewing.
