Useful For
Useful For
GGT activity is elevated in any and all forms of liver disease. It is highest in biliary obstruction, rising earlier and remaining elevated longer than other enzymes. Moderate elevations are seen in infectious hepatitis. In acute and chronic pancreatitis, GGT activity may be 5 -15 times normal. GGT is considered a marker for alcohol abuse.
