Useful For

​If patient's ABO/Rh is not recorded in the Blood Bank, a specimen is required.

This is a therapeutic product. Indicate number of units required. Fibrinogen concentrate is not available, Cryoprecipitate given as a substitute.  Cryoprecipitate is available as a single unit or in prepared pools from the supplier. A single Cyroprecipitate unit contains 150 mg of fibrinogen and 80 IU of Factor VIII (AHF) in less than 15 mL of plasma. Cryoprecipitate contains both Factor VIII: C and Factor VIIII:WF. Five Cryoprecipitate units contain 0.75 g Fibrinogen and 400 80 IU of Factor VIII (AHF).

Test Information
​• Cryoprecipitate is available as a single unit or in prepared pools of 5 from the supplier.
• Single or pooled units can be thawed and drawn in a syringe for transfusion, or use as fibrin glue. 
• Products pooled by the blood supplier (ex. 5CRY) need only to be thawed
