Collection Processing Instructions

Tube must be filled to the minimum draw line. Transport to laboratory immediately.
Double Spinning Samples for Coagulation Testing

1. Centrifuge the primary NaCit tube.

2. Remove plasma layer with a transfer pipet and place into a polypropylene tube. Do not disturb platelet layer.

3. Centrifuge this first aliquot tube.

4. Remove plasma leaving a small amount at the bottom of the tube. Use care not to disturb the pellet at the bottom.

5. Transfer this platelet free plasma into two polypropylene aliquot tubes. (0.5 mL in each tube).

6. Freeze samples at -20° C

Specimens are forwarded to appropriate testing lab by Sanford- Sioux Falls.
