Reference Range Information
Performing Location Reference Range
Marshfield

Platelet Function Test - Epi:
<1 month: 47-115 seconds
= or >2 years: 65-176 seconds

Platelet Function Test - ADP:
<1 month: 44-68 seconds
= or >2 years: 52-112 seconds

For ages not listed (>1 mo but less than 2 years), use the = or > 2 years ranges:
No reference ranges have been established for this group.

See Critical value List for list of current critical values
Interpretation
The interpretation of a prolonged epinephrine test requires the ADP result. Prolonged epinephrine with a normal ADP suggests aspirin or aspirin-like effect. Prolonged epinephrine and ADP are suggestive of intrinsic platelet defect, von Willebrand's disease or effect of platelet inhibiting agents.
