Test Information
Studies show the DGGR lipase correlates well with acute pancreatitis and with the Idexx’s canine Spec cPL lipase assay
Reference Intervals
See Report
Interpretation
There is general agreement between pancreatic specific lipase immunoassays and the DGGR lipase. No single test can definitively diagnose pancreatitis and results must be correlated with history, clinical signs, imaging studies and other laboratory results. Serum DGGR lipase concentrations greater than the reference range can reflect pancreatitis but may also be encountered in some cases of non- pancreatic disease. Patients with DGGR lipase values within the reference range are unlikely to have pancreatic disease.
