Useful For

BRAC Analysis is a genetic test that determines whether a patient has a BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation, indicating a predisposition to hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC). Once genetic risk is identified, there are specific management strategies that can be employed for early detection and risk reduction.

​Need to obtain Myriad collection kit from genetic counselor at the Marshfield campus.

EDTA Lavender Top Tube (LTT) 

​10 mL ​5 mL
Collection Processing Instructions
​Marshfield Hospital/Clinic/Regional Center patients may obtain kit from a genetic counselor at Marshfield Clinic. Once kit is received, collect 10.0 mL (5.0 mL minimum) EDTA whole blood. Ship at room temp. Sample arrival preferred at Myriad within 72 hours of draw time. Myriad will accept the sample within 7 days of collection, however by day 5 the DNA may start to be compromised.  Myriad will contact the provider for a redraw if they suspect the DNA is compromised. Deliveries accepted Monday - Friday ONLY.

Sample arrival preferred at Myriad within 72 hours of collection.  Myriad will accept the sample within 7 days of collection, however by day 5 the DNA may be compromisesd.  Myriad will contact the provider  for a redraw if they suspect the DNA is compromised.
