Collection Processing Instructions
Specimens should be shipped to arrive at the laboratory before 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or before 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Packages arriving after these hours or on Sundays may be subjected to unfavorable temperatures which could affect antibody recovery.​

Interference

Cross-reactions may occur between Brucella and Francisella species. Positive test indicates current infection; low titers may indicate a previous exposure to Francisella or a related organism.​

Test Information

​Tularemia in humans is incidental and is usually the result of interaction with wild animals and their environs. The organism penetrates the skin and an ulcer forms at the site of penetration which may persist for several months.
